TRAPER Impulse Black Nymph Carbon Fly Fishing Rod

The TRAPER Impulse Black Nymph Rod is a purpose-built rod designed for modern Euro nymphing techniques, including Czech, French and Spanish styles. It has been developed to provide maximum sensitivity, balance and control, making it well suited to technical nymph fishing where detecting subtle takes is essential.

At its core is a Japanese 40+46T carbon blank with a matt, unpolished finish. This construction delivers a responsive feel while maintaining strength and consistency. The addition of an anti-static coating helps reduce line adhesion to the blank, improving line control and performance, particularly in damp conditions.

A key feature of the rod is its down-locking (reverse-mounted) reel seat. This design shifts the balance point closer to the handle, improving overall control and making it easier to register takes and set the hook efficiently. The reel seat itself is CNC-machined from aluminium and mounted on a lightweight carbon tube.

The rod is fitted with reliable Pacific Bay guides, designed to be lightweight while maintaining durability and consistent line flow. It is available with either a high-quality AAAA Portuguese cork handle or a modern carbon handle with EVA finishes, allowing anglers to choose their preferred feel and setup.

Built in a 4-piece configuration for ease of transport, the Impulse Black Nymph Rod is supplied in a durable Cordura tube with internal compartments for protection. Designed with performance and practicality in mind, it is a strong choice for anglers focused on modern nymphing techniques and precise presentation.
